A Guide Through the City and the Forest
Eine performative Lesung

Ein Frauenchor bewegt sich entlang der Potsdamer Straße – auf einem langen Weg vom ausgelöschten Raum des Potsdamer Platz bis zum Kleistpark –, sammelt Ziegelsteine ein und fügt sie wieder in die Gebäude ein. Die Stadt, durch die sich die Frauen bewegen, erscheint als ein Archiv der Gewalt. Der Theatertext wurde 2023 für das Projekt While History Writes Itself am Maxim Gorki Theater geschrieben. Teile daraus wurden als szenische Lesung in Begleitung einer Videoinstallation von Anna Malena Große aufgeführt.

A women’s choir moves along Potsdamer Straße – over a long path from the erased space of Potsdamer Platz toward Kleistpark – collecting bricks and assembling them back into the buildings. The city through which they move is seen as an archive of violence.
The theatre text was written in 2023 for the project While History Writes Itself at Maxim Gorki Theatre. Parts were performed as a staged reading accompanied by a video installation by Anna Malena Große.
