Sabine Zahn ist eine in Berlin lebende Choreografin, die sich in ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit mit der gegenseitigen Beeinflussung von Körpern und ihrer Umgebung, vor allem dem urbanen Raum, beschäftigt. Insbesondere untersucht sie, wie choreografisch-somatische Strategien die Art und Weise erweitern, wie Urbanität und städtischer Raum gelebt, ausgedrückt und transformiert werden kann. Sabine ist Teil der Floating University Berlin, Areal (Artistic Research Lab Berlin) und dem Choreographischen Milieu. Sie unterrichtet in den Bereichen Urbanismus, Kulturwissenschaften, Tanz und Performance.
Ich habe im Herbst 2025 eine Serie von Forschungstreffen veranstaltet, als Teil meiner Forschung am RIFS, dem Forschungsinstitut für Nachhaltigkeit Potsdam. Dabei geht es um den Beitrag, den choreografisches und performatives Wissen zu den Debatten und tieferen Prozessen von Stadtentwicklung leisten können. Ich bin derzeit mit der Sortierung der Materialien beschäftigt und der Entwicklung eines geeigneten Dokumentationsformates.
Sabine Zahn (Berlin) is an artist, researcher and educator, working with the fields of choreography, urban practice, aesthetics, the city as lived space and how they complement each other. Under the term of Doing/city she explores a radical somatic angle towards space as produced through action. She works in close cooperation with other artists and spatial practitioners. Sabine is part of Floating University Berlin, Areal (Artistic Research Lab Berlin) and The Choreographic Milieu and teaches in various academic and other settings.
In autumn 2025, I organised a series of research meetings as part of my research at RIFS, the Research Institute for Sustainability Potsdam. These meetings focused on the contribution that choreographic and performative knowledge can make to the debates and deeper processes of urban development. I am currently sorting through the materials and developing a suitable documentation format.
