Christina Ciupke lebt und arbeitet als Choreografin und Tänzerin in Berlin. Sie entwickelt ihre Projekte gemeinsam mit Künstler*innen aus den Bereichen Tanz und anderen Künsten. In diesem Rahmen entstehen spezifische Räume und Situationen, in denen Nähe und Distanz, Intimität, Zeitwahrnehmung und das Miteinander von Zuschauer*innen und Darsteller*innen immer wieder neu verhandelt werden. Sie arbeitet eng mit den Choreograf*innen und Tänzer*innen Nik Haffner, Mart Kangro, Jasna L. Vinovrški, Ayşe Orhon, dem Komponisten Boris Hauf, dem Dramaturgen Igor Dobričić , dem bildenden Künstler Darko Dragičević zusammen. 2013 erhielt Christina einen MA in Choreografie (AMCh) von der Amsterdam School of the Arts. Meine aktuelle Recherche ist der Versuch, Vergangenheit Gegenwart und Zukunftsvisionen zu verweben. In einem Prozess, in dem ich (Bewegungs-)Artefakte aus meiner rund zweieinhalb Jahrzehnte umfassender choreographischer Arbeit ausgrabe, versuche ich, das, was in der Vergangenheit getan wurde, und was gefehlt hat, wiederzuentdecken, zu verstehen und zu katalogisieren. Was bleibt? Und was könnte in die Zukunft mitgenommen werden? Birgt das, was bleibt, kreatives Potenzial für die Zukunft? Kann die Vergangenheit die Zukunft schützen, indem sie ihr Potenzial hegt und anreichert, bis es bereit ist, sich zu entfalten?
Christina Ciupke lives and works as a choreographer and dancer in Berlin. She develops her projects with artists from the fields of dance and other arts. Within this framework, specific spaces and situations are created in which closeness and distance, intimacy, perception of time and the togetherness of spectators and performers are constantly renegotiated. She works in close collaboration with the choreographers and dancers Nik Haffner, Mart Kangro, Jasna L. Vinovrški and Ayşe Orhon, the composer Boris Hauf, the dramaturge Igor Dobričić and the visual artist Darko Dragičević. My current research is an attempt to interweave the past with the present and with future imaginations. Through a process of excavating movement artefacts from my body of work, spanning approximately two and a half decades, I am seeking to re-discover, understand, and catalogue what has been done in the past, and what has been missing. What remains? And what might be carried into the future? Do these remains hold creative potential for what is yet to come? Can the past protect the future by incubating and enriching its potential until it is ready to unfold?
